Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

FPS drops while playing any games while plugged in.

Sometimes it gets as low as 10fps.

I updated all drivers,BIOS and still the problem persist..

I am using the power adaptor given with the laptop which is 200w.

I have tried all the solutions and couldn't get any results..

I still have 5 months on warranty.

OS - windows 10

Gpu - geforce 1060  (6gb)

Kindly respond with a solution.thank you..

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Here's a video on how to disable the "turbo mode" that causes this issue: Click here

If you aren't able to disable it permanently, use the below steps:

Navigate to this folder:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static
  • Find CCC.exe, right click>properties>compatibility tab
  • Tick the 'run this program as an administrator' option and hit ok.
  • Do the same thing for MOM.exe
You may have to restart the PC for the changes to take effect, then try disabling overdrive, restart the game to see if it fixes it.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Tap on the Windows-key, enter cmd, right-click cmd.exe in the results listing and select to run the command prompt with administrative privileges.

Then disable the HPET and check. To disable HPET in Windows run the command bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

@Sharan24
System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to scan for corruptions in system files and restore them.

Let's run it:

  • In the search box on the taskbar, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.
  • Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"). (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to run and complete.)
  • Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").

And, also you can try to reset the app. In fact, you can reset all installed Windows apps if required. To do this, go to Settings and select "Apps"

Scroll down to find the problematic app, select it and click "Advanced options". and click the "Reset" button. See if this helps to solve the problem with the "Element not found" error

Keep me posted for further assistance.
