HP Omen 15-ce198wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Anyone know if there are any scripts or third-party programs available for HP Omen to make the laptop fan run at custom or full speed?

Barely a minute into Guild Wars 2 and the CPU temperature reaches well over 90°C (Even at lowest setting possible). I can literally feel the heat on the laptop surface.

System Condition:

BRAND NEW

System Specs:

Intel Core i7-8750H

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Graphics

16GB SDRAM

PS: Worst gaming laptop in my experience.

No, Fan control is tied strictly to the BIOS there is no Windows Level control..
And
Yup that is a 8750H for you...
I got the solution to the overheat in this topic: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/HP-Omen-Overheating/m-p/6919741#M14160

I do a lot of 3D renderings on my system, and they are all CPU based. Underclocking my CPU is not a solution for me.

Why not add fan speed controls in Omen Command Center? The Command Center seems pretty useless right now (Only time I find it useful is when I need to change the keyboard lighting)

Sorry but you are confused there.. Undervolting and Undercloking are 2 very different things.

-Undervolting is removing excess voltage from the CPU die, It wont change your CPU Performance instead by lowering the temperatures it can actually help the CPU sustain boost for longer periods which is great for 3D Rendering.

-Underclocking is when you lower your CPU frequency.. Which is entirely different to Undervolting...

My solution is to UnderVOLT your CPU.. Not UnderCLOCK.

Ah, my bad.

Okay so I wanted to try the XTU fix you mentions but i7 8750H is not mentioned in XTU's supported CPU list. Safe to proceed anyways?

So I undervolted my CPU to -0.150 V and ran stress test.

Hightest Temperature (Before UV) : 98

Hightest Temperature (After UV) : 98

Any ideas why?

Are you sure the undervolt is being applied? other fellas with the 8750H have seen up to -10°C improvement when going for -0.150mv.

o ur telling me that these laptops like to run at 90 c or is that way to hot for it i kno intel runs hot but it werid it was at like 80 wahen first got and i keep it clean but straight 22 90 at idle like 65c

HP Recommended

Yes the  8750H on early OMENs tend to run very hot as HP is basically re-using their thermal solutions from the 7700HQ era.

Now idling at 65°??? nope that seems to me that there is an issue with your laptop.

It should idle lower for sure but its maximum should still be around +90°C without undervolt.

I have the exact same problem. Any solution how to decrease the CPU temp
