HP OMEN
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,
I have a Hp Omen AX248TX laptop and I am having issues with fans,as it is making significant noise as if it is rotating at a very high speed even when laptop is idle(probably Fan 1).

Also, one of my laptop fan is running at low RPM like 150-200 RPM while the other is running at 2000-3000 RPM.
Few months back I got one of my fan replaced as it was making unusual grinding noises but now once again the noise issue has arised(though not like the first one,its just feels like its rotating too fast as mentioned above).
I don't know whether its normal or not and so,if u can clarify what is going on with my fans,it will be really helpful to me.I have also attached a screenshot of fans RPM(ss was taken when i was running FIFA 18 in background). If u need any additional information I can provide those.Capture.PNG
Thank You

If you only have a month left on your warranty and they already fixed one fan, I would contact them asap before it runs out.

HP has a simple set of things you can try yourself, like cleaning the fan, update bios, etc.

But because they fixed a fan already, I would just contact them again.

Take a picture of the error screen when it happens to show them the problem.

Yep that is a normal fan report for Speedfan.

One fan will be running fast while the other is slow.

From an Omen I recently had...

And what about the noise???

Well, you'll have to troubleshoot that yourself unless you're still under warranty.

If you are, contact HP Support for a hardware issue. They will need to make it right, but they wont know unless you contact them about the repair failure.

Also, make sure its not blocked with dust/lint. Blow it out with air.

I assume it wont be dirty since it was replaced not long ago.

Its not unusual for the fan to be heard when its spinning fast due to temps rising.

Thanks for quick responses,

Actually my problem is little weird, i mean sometimes when i start the laptop, fan dosent make much noise and sometimes it makes really loud noise as if its spinning really fast, also i can hear 'coil whine' after sometime(not most of the time).

Btw,my product is still under warranty for a month but idk what if  hp guy visits to check my laptop and there is no noise at that time..

I would have no way of knowing what your issue would be at this point. It all depends on whats been opened or running ing the background to cause the fan to spin up.

Mine would spin up  a little after a minute of being turned on, then spin down again depending on what process was running in the background.

If you arent sure, you could try looking into the Task Manager processes to see if something is using up CPU at that moment.

Otherwise, I would contact Support again and ask. Thats about all I can offer.

Ok...now one more problem has appeared....today when i started my fan it gave me an error saying "The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly" Something like this(not mine). So,any ideas? And also can you tell me how much a fan will cost for this hp model?

Thank You again
