Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The fans will turn on during very light browsing (just four tabs, no videos, and sticky notes are open - no heavy background apps). It is only the left fan, and it is noticeable enough that my partner hears it from the other room. I just got this laptop two days ago, have bios f.07, updated all the drivers, and turned "fan always on" off in the bios load up screen. I use 'defult' mode in omen control center, and temperatures are around 35-40 degrees. This is not normal, I've had many laptops before that could handle even more than this without turning the fans on at all, let alone to the point of being this loud. Is there a fix coming soon? I see through a search that I am not the only one with this problem. If not I need to return it asap so I can get some work done.

Hi@crimsoncypress, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 15-ax000na and the internal fan makes a loud noise or fan always on. I read that you have tried quite some troubleshooting steps but the issue still persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the fan loud right from the time you power on the laptop?

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop.

If the issue persists then please perform the steps as described in detail from this link: http://hp.care/2o8ai5U

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
