Hi!
I have with HP Omen 15 laptop where I get random drops in framerate ever so often, ever 10 secs or so, sometimes more often. This occurs regardless of settings and games it seems and I have replicated the same issue in Unigine Heaven benchmark aswell. The games are usually running fine with high framerate 60+ (dependning on the settings of course, I have tried with maxed out settings and low settings and I get the same results, V-sync engage/disabled etc). What happens is that ever so often I get at hiccup or drop in the frame rate, which kind of ruins the overall experience. I have had all my drivers up to date via the HP Assistant and also through GeForce Exp. I have updated the BIOS and made several fresh inställs of Windows, but I cant seem to fix the issue. I have monitored the temperature and work loads of the GPU, CPU, RAM etc. Some things I have noticed is that while running plugged in my cores are running at full core Clocks (not full load), around 4 GHz all the time, removing the Cable brings the Clocks down. If running uncheck my CPU can go up to 98 degrees Celsius, engaging V-sync or maxing the games in other ways (making the GPU the bottleneck) reduces the temperature. However I never seem to be able to get rid of the problem with the hiccups/frame pacing issues. My specs are as follows:
BIOS: F.09
Processor: Intel Core i7-8760H 2.20 GHz
Graphics: GTX 1070 Q-Max
Ram: 8 GB DDR4
HDD: 500 GB M2
Need all the help I can get I guess 🙂

@Toodjam
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. Let's perform a system extensive test in order to isolate the issue.
The Extensive Test will take 2 hours or more. If the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows app is not available on your computer, download the latest version from the HP Hardware Diagnostics website.
1. In Windows, search for and open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows app.
2. On the main menu, click System Tests.
3. Click the System Extensive Test tab.
4. Click Run once.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
