Description of Problem:

My HP Victus laptop has started freezing frequently in normal Windows mode, typically every few minutes. Each freeze lasts about 1–2 seconds, making the laptop almost unusable during light tasks.

Key Observations:

The laptop does not freeze in Safe Mode, which indicates the hardware is likely fine.

Freezing occurs whether performing light tasks, browsing, or idle.

Task Manager shows occasional disk and memory spikes during freezes.

Issue persists after updating/reinstalling GPU drivers, cleaning temporary files, and performing standard troubleshooting steps.

No visible overheating, unusual noises, or hardware errors.

Steps Already Taken:

Booted into Safe Mode — freezes do not occur.

Updated Windows and all HP drivers to the latest versions.

Reinstalled GPU drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).

Disabled startup apps and unnecessary services.

Ran system scans using sfc /scannow and DISM /RestoreHealth.

Additional Notes:

The issue appears to have started right after the latest update (Windows / BIOS / GPU).

Community feedback from other HP Victus users shows similar freezing issues after updates, suggesting it might be a software or driver conflict.

Laptop hardware seems fine — no BSODs or crashes in Safe Mode.

Request for Support:

I would like guidance on how to resolve these frequent freezes in normal mode. Specifically:

Is there a recommended driver version or BIOS rollback that addresses this issue?

Are there known conflicts with the latest update that HP is working on fixing?

Any additional troubleshooting steps recommended for Victus laptops experiencing post-update freezes?

Mate, I am literally having the same issue right now, and I also noticed it was after a recent update. My laptop is also a hp victus. Support assist suggested, as the last resort, installing windows again, I haven't done that yet but I doubt it will change anything
