Wifi gets disconnected from router frequently and then even the wifi option glitches. The only solution that temporarily solves the problem is to restart the laptop but it won't turn off normally and has to be forced shutdown by long pressing the power button only everytime this wifi issue arises. 
I have already tried reinstalling wifi drivers and also tried using HP automated services and troubleshooting techniques but they were of no use.

Frequent loss of Wi-Fi connection and glitches in the Wi-Fi option, as well as problems shutting down your laptop, can be frustrating issues to deal with. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these problems on your HP Pavilion gaming laptop.

 

Check Your Wi-Fi Network:

  • Make sure the Wi-Fi network you're connecting to is stable and functioning properly. Test with other devices to ensure the issue isn't with the network itself.

Restart Your Router:

  • Sometimes, router issues can cause Wi-Fi problems. Try restarting your router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Update Wi-Fi Drivers:

  • Outdated or incompatible Wi-Fi drivers can lead to connectivity issues. Update your Wi-Fi drivers to the latest version from the HP website or through Windows Device Manager.

Reset Network Settings:

  • You can try resetting your network settings to default. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Status" > "Network reset" and follow the prompts.

Check for Interference:

  • Make sure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices interfering with your Wi-Fi signal.

Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi:

  • Windows sometimes has power-saving settings that can interfere with Wi-Fi. To disable them, go to "Device Manager," expand "Network adapters," right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, select "Properties," go to the "Power Management" tab, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Check for Malware or Viruses:

  • Malware or viruses can sometimes affect network connectivity. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to ensure your laptop is clean.

Update Your Operating System:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. These updates often include bug fixes and improvements.

Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware:

  • Sometimes, updating the laptop's BIOS or UEFI firmware can resolve hardware-related issues. Check HP's website for the latest firmware updates for your laptop model.

 

Regarding the issue with your laptop not shutting down, it could be related to software or hardware problems. Try these steps.

 

  • Close All Applications: Ensure that all open applications are closed before attempting to shut down.
  • Force Shutdown: If your laptop is completely unresponsive, you can force a shutdown by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds. Be cautious with this, as it's not a recommended method but can be used in emergencies.
  • Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates, as some updates may include fixes for shutdown issues.
  • Driver Updates: Update your graphics and chipset drivers to the latest versions from HP's website.
  • Check for Malware: Malware or background processes could prevent proper shutdown. Run a malware scan as mentioned earlier.
