Hi there @M15dk, and welcome to HP Support Community!
Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your NVIDIA GPU isn’t working properly. Based on your description, GPU showing as a hidden device with a yellow warning icon and Error Code 10 (PEG60 9A09), this typically indicates a hardware initialization failure or driver conflict. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this issue.
Check BIOS Settings
Make sure the GPU is enabled in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Navigate to Advanced > Device Configuration or similar.
- Ensure Switchable Graphics or Discrete GPU is enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
If you recently updated BIOS, consider resetting BIOS to defaults once.
Perform a Clean NVIDIA Driver Installation
Sometimes remnants of old drivers cause issues. Let’s do a clean install:
- Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) from official site.
- Boot into Safe Mode.
- Run DDU and remove all NVIDIA drivers.
- Reboot normally.
- Download the latest NVIDIA driver for your GPU from HP Support or NVIDIA.
- Install the driver using Custom Installation > Clean Install.
Check for Windows Conflicts
- Open Device Manager → View → Show Hidden Devices.
- Right-click the NVIDIA GPU → Uninstall device (check “Delete driver software”).
- Reboot and let Windows reinstall the driver.
- If it still shows Code 10, try disabling Memory Integrity:
- Go to Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation.
- Turn off Memory Integrity and reboot.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Let’s check if the GPU is failing at the hardware level:
- Press Esc during boot → Select F2 for HP Diagnostics.
- Run System Tests > Graphics Test.
- Alternatively, download HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from here HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
Check Windows Event Viewer
- Press Win + X > Event Viewer.
- Look under System and Application logs for GPU-related errors.
- This can help identify if it’s a driver, firmware, or hardware issue.
If after all these steps the GPU still shows Code 10, it may be a hardware failure. Since the device is showing as hidden, it’s possible the GPU is not being initialized properly by the system. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
