OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-n0000 (63B17AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I don't use the laptop for gaming, and don't use the Gaming Hub either, except to change the default colour scheme of the keyboard, which I switch on and off with the Fn+F4 combination, as there are times I like a little bit of light from the keyboard. About a fortnight ago, using the Lighting option, I added a new colour scheme, which is just white.

That has been working fine until yesterday. Now when I switch it on, I'm getting the default scheme again, yet when I check the Gaming Hub, it's showing the white scheme.

If that isn't bad enough, none of the menu options along the sides do anything anymore, except give a red mark to the left, as can be seen in the attached screenshot. Everything on the laptop is up to date, even the BIOS, and the laptop has been powered down several times since yesterday.
