Gaming issue

I haven't had much of a run-in with this problem until I downloaded one of my favorite games, Detroit: Become Human. I understand the game itself requires a lot of graphics support and storage, but I have updated and checked the settings of my laptop and it seems fine. It's only when I press play in the game that it immediately starts buffering and freezing constantly. I have checked the settings in-game as well because I don't care much about the quality of it as long as I can play through it smoothly. I also have games like Life is Strange, The Sims, The Witcher, and Skyrim, and they play smoothly. I am frustrated about this because it is a game I thoroughly enjoy and even more so on PC-- if I ever get to play.
