Looks like I already have it pre-installed, use that or download 1.6.6.0? Sorry for the gamut of questions, just want to be prepared.

@MrChigen I love questions, don't worry about it!

If you have the latest version already installed, you can proceed with the tests, let's hope we have worthwhile results, to identify the issue,

Good luck!

Finally started it. Set it to run once due to my late start.  But I finally stopped procrastinating on it. Here's hoping it can ID whatever the problem might be.

Everything passed on the normal scan.

@MrChigen What normal scan are you referring to? it's the extensive test that I suggested right? If yes, that would confirm that this is not a hardware malfunction within the computer, rather it's either a software OS issue or do to with the LCD panel, to confirm the same, restart the device in BIOS by tapping on F10 during a restart and check if the same graphical issue occurs while you are in the BIOS screen.

Good luck!

It is indeed what you suggested. I'm in the BIOS/Setup Utility and am not seeing the graphical issue.

HP Recommended

@MrChigen Alright, good because that would confirm that this is a mere software issue, and I suggest you make use of the HP recovery media,
If you don't have an HP Recovery media, you'll need to order one: Click here for steps.

Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here

Would this be covered by my warranty, at least ordering it? The laptops six months old, so I'm within the year, as well as having three years extended warranty.

@MrChigen

Since you have extended warranty you can always check with HP Support for a free Recovery Media
