Hello,

While playing game, somehow the game crashed due to whatever reason and now even after reboot, launching game always ends up into screen freeze. During this screen freeze, only the game audio is audible from speaker.

It is noticed that, when launching a game there is a device connection sound and within a second there is a device disconnection sound and then followed by screen freeze. Pressing "ctrl + shift + windows + b" button to reset graphics driver is also not useful :(. Only way to make screen unfreeze is to do hard shutdown.

Now this laptop is no more playable :(. Reinstalling Nvidia graphics driver is also not useful.

Tried switching graphics using omen gaming hub and screen freeze problem as explained above is observed.

Is this laptop model has hardware issues with Advanced optimus ? Do I need to turn ON discrete graphics mode only in BIOS settings ?

HP team please fix this issue as soon as possible. [Windows 11 including optional, Microsoft store, hp support assistant, nvidia driver - all are up-to-date]

Solution is:

Steps:

1. Uninstall Omen gaming hub

2. Uninstall all nvidia(including nvidia app,physx,..) and intel related display driver from control panel

3. Disconnect internet.

4. Goto device manager and uninstall both intel and nvidia drivers. Ensure delete option is selected in the uninstall option.

5. Do the above step until you see the display drivers for both became “Microsoft display adapter…”

6. Restart laptop

7. Install downloaded intel graphics driver. Select customize option and choose graphics driver, intel graphics software and intel driver assistant, also select clean install option.

8. Next Install/update all the drivers from intel driver assistant if available.

9. Install Nvidia driver and select both graphics driver and nvidia app. Ensure to select clean install option.

10. Restart laptop

11. Install omen gaming hub and omen gaming hub sdk.

12. Right click on the desktop then choose display settings->Advanced display and choose a higher refresh rate.

13. Open intel graphics software, select “Display” option and do the settings as mentioned below,

     a. Disable “variable refresh rate”.

     b. Disable “panel self refresh”

14. Restart the laptop and enjoy playing without any screen freeze and no more black screen issue while switching graphics between igpu and dgpu.

My feedback: 14 steps to solve the issue by my own? Is there coming any update which solves the problem? This is not a proper way to deliver gaming laptop with this issues...
And i have paid here for a "premium" laptop!

Open device manager, expand display adaptors and check if nvidia GPU show any error or exclamatory mark with error no.
