I have omen t17~w200, I have exact same issue, had a laptop for over a month, mine only happens when I'm in desktop mode, while playing games no issues,

I get these double images, sometimes green screen, sometimes it happens few times in a min sometimes goes hour, randomly...

Ran all tests, stress included, updated the drivers, restored nothing.

@Bosanac1

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I Understand the Screen turns green at times,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

  • Did you try with an alternate monitor?
    • If you haven't, Please try an alternate monitor to understand if this is either a hardware or a software failure,
    • if the issue does not appear on the alternate monitor, you may need to replace the display assembly on your computer,
  • if the issue appears on the alternate monitor/TV as well, re-install the graphics card drivers & update it from the official HP Website: Click here

If you don’t have an alternate monitor, I recommend checking if the issue appears on the BIOS screen (restart the computer and tap on F10 to access BIOS)

This would confirm if it's either a hardware failure or an issue with the graphics card drivers so we may reinstall and update the drivers to fix the issue as mentioned above.

If the issue persists on BIOS as well, please try with a TV to identify if it's the LCD or the motherboard/video card failure,

I have used an alternate monitor,
I have reinstalled drivers

What is confusing it passes all the tests, I play games for 5 hours no issues, never really happened during the gaming experience.

Only while in desktop mode, surfing web, YouTube and its completely random, sometimes I get green screen sometime double image and it's frozen like that for 30 sec to a min, sometimes I have to do hard restart.

@Bosanac1

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

The team at the HP phone support should be able to take a remote session and help you resolve that out (if need be)

I recommend you get in touch with them and they should be able to sort it out for you.

In fact, you need to contact them only if the issue occurs on BIOS as well as the alternate display,

if not, simple updating BIOS, Chipset, Graphics card drivers as advised before should resolve the issue.
