I purchase the HP Envy BA0010na laptop a few years ago. I have always noticed that the hinge was very stiff, but I predominantly have my laptop connected to dual monitors, so I do not need to frequently open and close. One day last year I opened the laptop and the hinge completely seized up and broke through the bottom corner of the screen and caused damage across the entire screen. See photos. The laptop is completely unusable and cannot even be opened or closed due to fear or causing further damage. Having taken a quick look on google, it is an obvious design fault that is well known by HP. There are already many discussions opened about this exact same problem.

Due to this being an inherent design flaw for the entire range of laptops, I would fully expect HP to step in to create a solution to have this repaired or replaced. Why haven't these laptops being recalled yet? This is a very expensive laptop to have such a destructive and inherent design flaw.
