HP G2 Reverb with Pavilion Gaming Laptop

Hi all, 

I am fairly new to VR and I bought myself  g2 reverb. I'm trying to run it off my Pavilion Gaming Laptop (specs are here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06469268) however laptop doesn't recognise g2?

I have the 3.1 usb adaptor (c to a), and also the usb-c to DP1.4 adaptor. Any ideas on why g2 doesnt fire up and is not recognised? thanks J
