Hi  @pradeep118

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support Community. I understand that your laptop keyboard is not working, and I'll be glad to help you troubleshoot the issue.

To assist you better, kindly share the following details:

  • The exact HP laptop model number (Click here for steps)
  • Is the entire keyboard not responding, or only certain keys?
  • Are you able to use an external USB keyboard successfully?
  • Does the keyboard work on the login screen?

In the meantime, kindly try these below steps and confirm :

  1. Perform a Hard Reset (Click here for steps)
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Disconnect the charger.
    • If the battery is removable, remove it.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power source and turn the laptop on.
  2. Check for Keyboard Lock
    • Press Fn + Esc and test the keyboard.
    • If your model includes a keyboard lock key, kindly verify that it is not enabled.
  3. Update or Reinstall the Keyboard Driver
    • Press Windows + X and open Device Manager.
    • Expand Keyboards.
    • Right-click the keyboard device and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart the computer and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
  4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Click here for steps)
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Turn it on and repeatedly tap F2.
    • Select Component Tests > Keyboard Test and check the results.
  5. Check for Windows Updates and BIOS Updates
    • Install all pending Windows updates.
    • Use HP Support Assistant to check for BIOS and driver updates.
