Hi all,
I've purchased a used HP OMEN 15-dc0010ng. The seller seemed a bit odd. Hence, I decided to run some tests and benchmarks. Turns out, that CPU (Intel Core i7-8750H) and GPU (Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q) are siginificantly underperforming compared to similar configurations.
I've gone through all benchmarks and logs in another board. The issue is clear now: CPU and GPU are heavily power throttled.
At peak stress testing the CPU reaches it limit at 25W, the GPU at 45W (non-critical temp, each).
Obviously, I've set the OMEN command center and Windows energy options to max performance. BIOS is completely on "default" and up to date.
Do you know, if HP is power throttling the components to the values mentioned above? Or did the seller do anything, that I can revert?
Thanks a lot!
