Hi
I have a HP OMEN 17-an0xx.
https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/scanview/6D199C5F31D926C3
Would like to upgrade the memory from 16GB to 32GB. What is the maximum speed it will recognise? (it is currently 2400MHz)
Looking at Crucial CT16G4SFD824A or Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 for upgrade.
Thanks

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook.
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05574525
Below is the link to the Intel specs for the processor your notebook has...
The fastest speed the memory can run at is capped at the processor FSB speed of 2400 MHz.
As far as why HP equipped the notebook with 2666 MHz memory, it is probably what they have on hand.
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook...

If you are planning on maxing out the memory to 32 GB, 2400 MHz memory will be fine, but since they sell the 2666 MHz kit for the same price, you may as well go for that one.

Hi:
What is the product number of your notebook?
Use this guide to find that information...

Hi
According to HP Support Assistant, product number is 1UH68EA#ABU
Also I have just checked on HP Support Assistant that the memory installed is 8GB Kingston 2667MHz x2
On task manager under memory it says Speed: 2400MHz however.
Thanks
