HP OMEN - 15 dc0051nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I bought my HP omen 15 dc0051nr from microcenter in August and I updated my laptop a few days ago and my omen command center  button is not working. Now while I'm typing this I have encountered another problem when I press the caps lock button or trackpad lock or home button lock I cannot see the small popup like window stating that my action has been exicuted. I even got blue screen errors a few times and my gestures were not working properly especially scrolling.

@RuthlessKiller1,

Thank you for visiting the HP community and a good day for you. I reviewed the case and will gladly assist you. Terrific observations made and great description of the issue. Kudos to you for that.

  • Did you run hardware diagnostics on the computer?

Let's try these steps:

If diagnostics fail, make a note of the failure code for the failed component. If they pass try these steps:

Now check for issue resolution. If it continues, then perform a reset of Windows 10 to factory settings after backing up your data.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Hi I did not do any of the steps as i was in a hurry so I formatted the laptop and that seems to have done the trick. But if the problem repeats then I'll do the steps and let you know. But really thank-you for your help.

Im guessing when it fully updates, the problem will come back.

If its at all possible, If you could notice what updates are installed when it does occur again, it would be helpful to me.

Let me know. Thanks.
