Hi @boss232,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Omen laptop screen is flickering and getting blurry, there are several potential solutions you can try.
Update or Reinstall Display Drivers: Even if your drivers are up to date, they might still be causing issues. You can uninstall the current display driver and reinstall the latest version. Here's how to do it:
- Boot into Safe Mode (you can do this from the "Recovery" settings in Windows).
- Open Device Manager, locate your display adapters, right-click on your adapter, and choose Uninstall Device. Be sure to check the option to delete the driver software.
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver. Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers directly from the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, Intel, or AMD).
Check Display Settings: Sometimes, setting the refresh rate too high can cause flickering. You might try lowering the refresh rate:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced display settings and adjust the refresh rate to 60 Hz or 120 Hz to see if it resolves the flickering.
Loose or Damaged Cables: If the flickering varies when you adjust the screen angle, there might be an issue with the internal cables connecting the display.
Disable Hardware Acceleration: Some users have found that disabling hardware acceleration in applications can alleviate flickering. You can do this in the settings of applications like browsers or video players
Adjust Windows Settings: In some cases, disabling visual effects can help:
- Go to Settings > System > About, and select Advanced system settings. Under Performance, click on Settings and select Adjust for best performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
