Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,
I own an HP OMEN 16 Gaming Laptop. I haven't been able to use its microphone since I bought it. I have downloaded various drivers but haven't had any success. I have checked my settings, so I don't believe the issue stems from them. I would appreciate your help with this matter.

Best regards,

Check if below Microsoft article helps:

If issue remains then Test in HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Select Component Tests > Audio > Microphone Test.
  4. Follow the prompts to test the mic.

If it also fails in HP Hardware Diagnostics, this points to a hardware issue, either a faulty microphone or an internal connection problem. Since the laptop is new, contact the seller as soon as possible and request a replacement within the return window, which is usually 7–14 days.

If laptop is already a bit old, then use warrenty. I recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue. You can locate the nearest HP service center using our Service Center Locator:

(Select your location in it)

Call before visit, ask for required documents, etc. Also take video of current laptop condition at service center before giving it to repair for safely and to avoid any issue/defect that is not cause by you.
