HP - How to FIX the issue with BLACK SCREEN on HP OMEN 16 ?
I see nothing neither on LCD screen or via HDMI !
Keyboard's LED working, Fans are spinning.
Already disconnected multiple times Battery, Memory, SSD disk, etc ...
Followed all HP recommendations, and NOTHING !
How can I do something if I don't see what it wants or what happens to it?
HP, can you fix this, or is it an "expensive piece of junk" that I bought that broke as soon as the warranty ran out?
Very disappointed with the quality of the product!!

Hi @hrundel200,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP OMEN 16. Please follow these troubleshooting steps that might help you identify and resolve the issue.
External Display:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or DisplayPort cable. If you see a display on the external monitor, it might be an issue with the laptop's built-in display.
Brightness Settings:
- Check if the laptop's brightness settings are too low. Press the function key (usually labeled as "Fn") along with the key that has a sun icon to increase brightness.
Hard Reset:
- Shut down your laptop completely.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter (and battery) and turn on the laptop.
BIOS/UEFI Update:
- Visit the official HP support website and check for any available BIOS/UEFI updates for your laptop model. If there's an update, follow the instructions to install it.
Graphics Driver Update:
- Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP official website of the graphics card.
Boot into Safe Mode:
- Try booting your laptop into Safe Mode. If it works in Safe Mode, there might be an issue with a recently installed driver or software causing the problem.
Hardware Diagnostics:
- HP laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostics tools. Check your user manual or visit the HP support website to find instructions on running hardware diagnostics.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
