Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I reset my laptop the other day because I was having preformance issues and now whenever I turn on my laptop I'm greeted to a black screen; No splash screen or logos, pute black. I've already tried connecting it to an external monitor with no luck, and I've checked both my RAM sticks and they seem fine. The keys on my laptop still light up, but I can't hear the disconnect/reconnect sound when I unplug my mouse.

Thank you for your help,

Joshua

Maybe try booting to safe mode. What operating system are you using? Getting Win 10 to boot into safe mode isn't as simple as it used to be. Windows 10 does not allow you to enter into safe mode by pressing the F8 key. When you reset the computer, if it performed windows updates, the updates could be the issue. If you can get to safe mode you can restore to an earlier version. Or your display adapter could have failed which is why you can't see anything on an external monitor. HP has a long list of black screen repair diagnostics and repair suggestions on these links:
