OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck0000 (2Y4A6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. Bought this HP Omen 17 just over a month ago. Within the past week or so I've noticed a low grumbling/grinding noise, particularly when the fans are at lower speeds (~2600rpm), though it's also quite audible at max (~4600rpm). Being only a few weeks old at this point, and given that I take immaculate care of my hardware, use a proper cooling pad, and clean the vents several times per week, I'm quite sure it's not an issue of dirt or debris clogging the fans, but I'm really hoping it's not a manufacturer's defect.

Is this a known issue with this hardware line? Is there any simple fix? If not, how and where do I go about getting this fixed? I really, really don't want to have to mail this thing in somewhere and wait weeks for someone to look at it. I'd honestly rather just eat the cost and go buy a different brand. Are there any other solutions available to me?

Thanks!

Ryan

You are funny. It's your own decision and I think that's right.

Hi Ub6424,

I decided to bite the bullet and return the laptop and buy something else. Probably should have just done that from the start rather than starting a thread. I do appreciate the quick response, though. Y'all can lock this now.
