Hi community,

 

my Omen 17 with a RTX 2080 has a flickering screen issue every time I install a GPU driver from Nvidia. The flickering is so bad that I'm forced to use an external monitor, otherwise I can't see anything.

 

Interestingly, as soon as I uninstall the Nvidia drivers, the flickering is gone. However, this is not a solution either as I cannot use the laptop for gaming without any Nvidia drivers.

 

Has anybody had the same issue? Is this likely a hardware issue, like a loose connection between GPU and monitor?

 

Windows and all other drivers are up to date. Older GPU drivers don't fix the problem, the flickering occurs every time I install one of them, and disappears when I uninstall them.
