Product: OMEN by HP - 17-w220nr

I just bought this laptop about a week ago from bestbuy. Whenever I skype - videocall with a friend. The fan gets SUPER loud, I'm talking she can hear through the internal mic on the laptop AND even distantly through my headphone mic too...It's super loud. It sounds like a jet engine to be quite honest, I owned an HP pavilion before and it never had this issue before. I would think a gaming laptop like this would run programs better without soudning like an airplane...can someone please help? 

I'm honestly debating on returning this laptop since it's so loud...

Omen units are equipped with fans that can keep the unit cool during long and intense gaming sessions. However, your description seems like the usage is less than intense during the periods of loud noise. The unit may have suffered damage to the fan or its bearing in transit or at the store. With how new the unit is, I would recommend taking it back to BestBuy to have them look at it.

I agree with  Sad_Panda.

 

Take it back to Best Buy for an exchange. They only give you two weeks to exchange it, unless you bought their extended warranty.
