Hello

I'm back again with some more issues that i that i have notcied with the CPU as of late

The Temperature while playing call of duty black ops 3 has been around 85-90c and going for a few secounds over this to 90-99c but its mostly around 85-90c?

I belive i made a post about this before?

I'm worried about the high temperature and if that is any fixes would be helpful?

Im guessing your using HWMonitor and looking at the Highest percentage peak?

Post a screen shot if you can please.

I'm using MSI Afterburner/RTSS On screen display for my CPU while gaming

I do not know how to use this program you speak off ?

What does HWMonitor say your temps are as you actually play the game, not after you close it?

Run it again and clear the min/max temps before playing. View>Clear max temp.

Have it running during the game, then simply hit Ctrl/Alt/Del to minimize the game screen. Use the Snipping Tool to grab a shot of the temperatures.

The Value column is what is the current temp. The min and max will show the peak a cpu temp raised, even for a micro-second and retain that reading to show what the all time peak was. What Im interested in is the current real time temps during the game. If the current Value is reaching above 90, its high in my opinion. Some people say Meh, laptops run hot.

But in any case, you have a couple of options you could try.

1. Undervolt the CPU with a tool like Intel XTU or Throttlestop. You will have to look to their website for info.

2. Sometimes a repaste works, sometimes not. If you are under warranty, you can always contact HP Support for a claim and see if they will repaste it for you. Contact HP Worldwide | HP® Official Site

Otherwise I would not have any other fixes that would help other than telling you to use a cooling pad to rest the laptop on.

Hope that helps a little.

Current temp is called Value in HWMonitor.

Here is an example of idle, and a laptop playing Dishonored 2 wthin minutes of starting the game. The laptop never game me any trouble.

Thank you for you're reply

Just played Call of duty black ops 3 on zombies mode

A note that temps were around 75-90c on the most part

Through at points and this was offen it went over 90c

I have a warrenty with Currys and should able to help me out regarding this

I have tried the Throttlestop program but had sight to no effect sadly

As said i would rather not open the laptop up as under warranty

Hmm, if its mostly staying in the 80s under Value, I would say you would be ok.

If its primarily going 95c on most cores like that one core is through most of the game, thats too high for my comfort.

Others are going to say, thats what those laptops run at.

Your best option... I would talk to Currys and see what they can do for you.

It does go down to around 75c but its mostly around 80-90c

i would understand if it was a lot older but for 3 weeks surely this can't be right

I have sent a email to currys expaining what's happening and the issues that i have got

Also had someone from HP saying that's its quite poor esp for a new laptop

Looks like i find out soon
