Hello I am trying to carry out maintance on my HP Omen (2017) 15 inch gaming laptop.
There are 10 screws on the bottom and I've attempted to unscrew one but it is impossible as the screw is too tight. My screwdriver fits exactly and matches the screw head but I cannot turn them not matter how much force I apply. Its to the point where the screwdriver is stripping the screw head.
I am trying to clean my fans and upgrade the RAM.
Is there a way that makes it easier or a step I am missing?
Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an OMEN 15 " 2017 series laptop. I read that you're trying to clean the fan and upgrade the RAM, but one of the screws of the bottom casing does not come out.
During my research, I came across this service guide for the HP Omen series laptops. The page# 32 explains how to remove the base enclosure. You might want to check the below information mentioned there:
Hope this information helps. In case you need further assistance then please reply with the exact laptop model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
Cheers! 🙂

But do the warnings mean I need to send it to HP to upgrade the RAM? or to clean the fans? I bought it a few weeks ago and I usually service all my computers every month. I still have a 1 year warranty so is the ram change and fan clean free?

You're most welcome. 🙂
Usually, HP does not recommend making any hardware changes to the original configuration.
The warranty will fix any hardware failures within the laptop. The regular maintenance or any upgrade is not covered by the warranty.
Secondly, since the laptop is fairly new, the fan may not need any cleaning this early. However, here are a few tips that HP recommends that help in maintaining your laptop.
Hope this information helps. Cheers!
