OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck0000 (2Y4A9AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The track/touchpad on my HP Omen 17.3 gaming laptop has not worked properly since I bought it last August (2021).  I needed a laptop for work and 17-inch laptops were scarce when I purchased it, so I was desperate and resorted to using a USB mouse at the time. The external mouse works perfectly.   I have updated the touchpad drivers and ran diagnostics and everything points to all functioning correctly.  However, for the last few months, it would only work intermittently.  When it did work, the cursor was jittery and stuttered across the screen.  As of this morning (2/8/22), I am not getting any movement from the mouse and no reaction when clicking.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing touchpad issues with the HP Omen Laptop PC. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.
  • Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to complete functional test of the touchpad and identify any problems with the hardware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
