Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings everybody,

I have a problem with my audio for my laptop as it's not working properly. I updated the audio drivers with a realtek HD audio from the HP support website but I am still experiencing audio issues. The issue is that sometimes the sounds gets distorted and/or starts buzzing. I rollbacked the driver from realtek HD audio to "High Definition Audio Driver" which is the windows 10 default driver for sound. It fixed it for a little bit but sometimes it starts cracking again and usually when the crackling sound gets really intense the PC shuts off.

I updated NVIDIA drivers which also supposedly updated my audio drivers, but I'm still experiencing the issue. It persists, even if I'm using wireless headphones / speaker or the laptop's speakers.

Thank you very much in advance :).

I would contact Support directly for a warranty issue anyway.

Sounds like a physical error that needs repaired.

Thats really strange. YOu may have something more than just  a sound driver corrupted.

I dont see any advisories for you model.

I would suggest running the HP Diagnostics and see if it finds a hardware error.

F2 at power on. Run the Extenended test for everything.

IF it does find an error, you will have something to report to HP Support directly.

Make sure the bios is up to date also...

I have updated my BIOS and switched back to the realtek audio driver,  I will inform you in a few days if it works since I need to test it out. Thank you for the opted solution, let's hope it works this time!

Also, I forgot to say, I've already ran hardware diagnostics and all came clear. I've sent it twice into service, but that was another problem.

So, after 4 days of testing I came to the following conclusion:

I tried using a wireless bluetooth speaker and the crackling does not occure. When I use my headphones ( I'm using a pair of AKG's, think they come bundled with the newer Samsung phones) I plug them in the audio jack. If I start playing a game the audio starts getting distorted after I've spent a little time on the game, when the heating in the GPU and CPU starts to occure basically. When I unplug them and start using the laptops integrated speakers the crackling persists.

I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers( The GPU Is a NVIDIA 1060) and it came with an NVIDIA HD Audio Driver or something like that which changed my audio drivers to Realtek HD Sound and I haven't changed it since, but even if I use the default audio drivers bundled with windows 10 the problem persists.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 17763) and I have used a product key on it.
