Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there,

I bought a HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx. Although the specs and everything have been outstanding the laptop has one issue. Battery life is just not a thing with it. On a full charge it drops 10% after 10mins, and after 1 hour of general use it's at 10%. One spec sheets, it says the battery should last up to 6 hours, this laptop is completely brand new so I don't understand how it can be an issue. I have put the battery on to saver mode to see if it makes a difference but sadly it doesn't. Is there a fix for this or will I have to send it away for a new battery?

Many thanks,

Phil

I have the same problem  since new  but their battery utility kept saying it was fine  until a week after warranty expired. Touch pad is also defective even though I hardly ever use the machine.. Occasional  Travel for a few hours at a time.  Sound is also very low for a so called gaming computer.  sometimes can barely hear it for every day mail etc programs. Acutally Ive never gamed on it.  I bought it for features and speed.   HP sold me a Lemon and has refused to even answer inquiries I  sent them about repairing or replacing it.  Evidently they don't care about their customers  or having a good reputation.   Good luch on your issue. I am sure they just put a junk battery in yours like they did mine.

Hi@PhilDuffie, @TSCO1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the Battery on the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop PC. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • For Testing and Calibrating the Battery please click this link

Try changing the power mode to "Balanced" or "Better Performance" as the default setting.

Go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options" > "Change plan settings" > "Change advanced power settings"
Scroll down, click on "Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Setting" > "Config TDP Level",
Then select the middle value for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In".
Scroll further down. Select "Processor power management";
Then select "Maximum processor state";
Change the value from 100% to 96% for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In" options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
