I had given my HP Victus laptop serial >Do not include the product serial number or any private information.<
for repairs as per the attached job card to your HP Authorised service centre, IT World at Bannerghata Road, Bengaluru, on 20-11-2025. They told me that some power chip is defective and needs to be replaced, and gave an estimate of Rs. 4500/- as the laptop is out of warranty. Another option they offered was a 2-year extended warranty for 12000/-, but would have to wait at least a month for warranty activation and would replace the spare under warranty afterwards. Since I was in a hurry, I chose the first option, trusting it to be an HP authorised service.

Yesterday, 25-11-2025, I received the call that my laptop is ready, and I went to collect it accordingly. When I wanted to check which spare/component was replaced, they surprisingly told me that no component was replaced, but the motherboard was repaired. But the price that I was quoted remained the same. When I tried to escalate the issue, I was shocked to discover that they had repaired the laptop as a third-party vendor and not as an HP Authorised service. Nowhere during the entirety of the discussion on 20-11-2025, was I made even remotely aware that the repair was going to be done from an unauthorised repair centre. This was a disaster. First and foremost, the concern is that though I had given the laptop to the HP Authorised service centre, they repaired it as a third party without my consent. Secondly, I was also deceived by miscommunication about an imaginary spare replacement.

On my request to connect with the manager or available superiors, a person introduced himself as Mr Selvim, claiming to be the Regional Head of <removed> and tried to cover up the issue. He expressed his inability to share his contact details, saying that he has no email ID and certainly no visiting card.

I left with no choice and paid their demand of Rs. 4500 and took my so-called repaired laptop. I felt cheated and was highly disappointed.

I request you to kindly look into this matter, take appropriate action and ensure that no fraudulent activity happens in the name of Brand HP.

I  request the readers to help escalate the matter to the concerned authorities to ensure appropriate action can be taken without any delay.

Hi @Akuuu_23,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I completely understand how upsetting and disheartening this experience must have been for you. You placed your trust in what you believed was an HP authorized service center, only to discover later that the repair was carried out by a third party without your consent and under misleading communication.

Being asked to pay for a service that was not transparent, would leave anyone deeply disappointed. We don't want our customer to go through the stress of uncertainty about whether their device was handled properly or whether they were misled in the process.

Your frustration is valid, and it’s important that this matter is escalated so that such practices are stopped and genuine trust in the HP brand is restored. I would request you to please share the Job id or CSO no or case number to track this and help you further.

Take care and have an amazing day!
