Today, while on a Google Meet call, I noticed that my camera was not working. The Camera app shows the error code 0xA00F4244.
I contacted HP Support, and the live agent informed me that the issue is related to missing or faulty drivers, and that the required camera drivers are not available online. So he asked me to contact the manufacturer.
Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

Hi @Rambo9
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for flagging that—error 0xA00F4244 means Windows can’t detect your built-in camera at all, which is surprisingly common on the Victus 15-fa0000 series after updates or driver issues. Let’s get your camera back online:
Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure that the toggle switch under "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned on.
- Check the list of apps and ensure that the application you are using (e.g., Google Meet) is allowed to access the camera.
Update Camera Driver:
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click on your camera device and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to let Windows find and install the latest driver.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your camera device and select Uninstall device.
- Confirm the uninstall process and restart your laptop.
- Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver upon reboot. If not, go to the HP website and manually download and install the latest camera driver for your model.
Run Troubleshooters:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters.
- Run the Camera troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates to ensure your system is up to date. Install any pending updates and restart your laptop.
Check Antivirus Software:
- Some antivirus programs can block the camera. Check your antivirus settings to ensure the camera is not being blocked.
Enable Camera in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during boot).
- Look for camera settings and ensure the integrated camera is enabled.
- Save the settings and exit the BIOS.
HP Support Assistant:
- Use the HP Support Assistant tool to check and install the latest updates for your laptop. This tool can help identify and fix issues with hardware and drivers.
- Download HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant
Following these steps should help resolve the error code 0xA00F4244 and get your camera working again.
