Dear HP,

Please add a battery limiter whereas the battery will stop charging from 80% (my BIOS doesn't have this). Thank you

Hi @Joshu1

Unfortunately no, only devices of the business line have this option in the BIOS.

you probably have only battery optimizer to see that, make a battery test and see if in the result you find that you have an optimizer activated.

well thats unfortunate, I was hoping they will add this in the future but I guess not.

the adaptive battery was added and windows 11 manages the load in windows 11 itself when it enters optimization, but without setting limits, so some users see that in their computers the charge does not go over 90% for example, because the adaptive load is activated.

mine still charges until 100% though, does the battery still charges once it hits 100% or does Windows 11 or the adaptive battery cuts the charge to avoid overcharging?

HP Recommended

Of course, it cuts the charge, that happens in all HP notebooks and reactivates the charge if the battery drops below 95%.

the adiptive battery is according to the use you make of it when charging, you can cut the charge at 90% and it doesn't move from there.
