Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all, I've purchased the HP - Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7-12650H - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti - 512GB SSD a few days ago and I am seriously considering returning it because it frequently crashes when I play games and it seems random and out of my control. What happens is that my game will freeze for several seconds, then the screen would turn black, and then my game is exited out and I'm back to staring at my desktop. Sometimes I can play for hours and have no issues, some other times it can crash just after a few minutes of playing. For a brand new laptop, I shouldn't be having these issues, is it defective? I notice that the fan would start whirring hard when it's about to crash and they keyboard would feel a little warm. I tried playing with the lowest settings for my game and highest settings, and the results on when it would crash would be random every time. I would restart the laptop and constantly check the memory usage, and it all seems normal and shouldn't cause it to crash, but it still does. Please let me know of any possible fixes for this, otherwise I will be returning it because the random crashes and overheating is a huge dealbreaker for me. My old non-gaming laptop that is several years old and much lower specs does not have this problem. Thank you.
