I bought a HP Victus Gaming Laptop but its lagging while using the Main menu. It gets even worse whilst trying to play Games like Dota and Planet Zoo so that i cant play them because of the lagging and delay. I tried changing the graphics but even when its just using the graphic card it is not getting better. Does anyone have any other ideas?

@Ma_ra-12, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP Victus Gaming Laptop is experiencing lag, especially when navigating the main menu or playing games like Dota and Planet Zoo, here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
Update Drivers and Software:
- Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest drivers.
- Check for Windows updates and install any available patches.
Adjust Game Settings:
- Lower the graphics settings in each game to see if performance improves.
- Turn off any features that require high processing power like shadow effects, anti-aliasing, and high texture quality.
Optimize Performance:
- Use the Windows Performance Toolkit to analyze and optimize system performance.
- Close any background applications or processes that might be consuming system resources.
Check Thermal Management:
- Make sure the cooling vents are not obstructed, as overheating can cause performance issues.
- Use HP Command Center or similar software to monitor the system temperature and adjust fan settings if necessary.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- Use HP's hardware diagnostic tools to check for potential hardware failures.
Ensure Sufficient Power Supply:
- Make sure the laptop is plugged into a power source, as gaming laptops often perform better while charging.
I hope this helps.
