I have a 2-year-old Victus 15t-fa 100 laptop. Just after the first year, the laptop began to lose its Bluetooth function. Over the last few weeks, it has been losing the ability to control dual monitors.

I use an HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock to run the dual monitors & exterior keyboard through. I have tried multiple times to reload Bluetooth drivers from HP site with no success.

Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve these issues?

Hi @Kmc250,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • When Bluetooth stopped working, did it disappear entirely from Device Manager, or does it show up with an error symbol?
  • For the dual monitor issue, do the displays not get detected at all, or do they flicker/disconnect intermittently?
  • Have you tried connecting the monitors directly to the laptop (bypassing the dock) to see if the issue persists?
  • Are you running the latest BIOS and chipset drivers from HP’s support site?

Troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check Device Manager
    • Open Device Manager and look under Bluetooth and Display adapters. If you see any yellow warning icons, right-click and select Uninstall device, then restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the drivers automatically.
  2. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
    • Sometimes Bluetooth and USB-C dock issues are tied to outdated firmware. Visit HP’s support page https://support.hp.com/  for your Victus model and ensure BIOS, chipset, and graphics drivers are fully up to date.
  3. Dock Firmware Update
    • The HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock has its own firmware updates. Installing the latest version can resolve monitor detection and stability issues.
  4. Test Without Dock
    • Connect one monitor directly to the laptop’s HDMI port and see if it works reliably. This helps confirm whether the dock is the source of the problem.
  5. Bluetooth Reset
    • In Device Manager, right-click the Bluetooth adapter → Disable device, then re-enable it. If it still doesn’t appear, check under Hidden devices.
  6. Windows Updates
  • Make sure you’re fully updated, as Microsoft often pushes fixes for Bluetooth and USB-C compatibility.

I hope this helps.
