My HP Victus doesn't go up from 60 fps, I already updated the drivers and I put performance mode and turn off V-Sinc but nothing has worked for me. It doesn't overheat or have problems with the battery, of all steps mentioned on this page the only thing I haven't done is update the Bios, another thing I did was put the screen to 144 Hz

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Victus is not exceeding 60 FPS even after updating drivers, enabling performance mode, and disabling V-Sync, there are several potential reasons why this might be happening. Since you’ve already updated your drivers and set the screen to 144Hz, here are a few things you can still try to address the issue:
1. Check the Display Refresh Rate and G-Sync/FreeSync Settings
Since you mentioned setting the screen to 144Hz, it's essential to ensure that your system is actually running at that refresh rate:
- Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings.
- Scroll down and select Advanced display settings.
- Make sure that your refresh rate is set to 144Hz. If it's locked at 60Hz, try changing it to 144Hz again.
If you're using NVIDIA G-Sync or AMD FreeSync technologies, make sure those are also disabled if you are trying to get higher FPS, as these can sometimes cap the frame rate based on your display’s refresh rate.
2. Ensure GPU Performance Mode is Set
You mentioned enabling performance mode, but check if your graphics card settings are also optimized for performance:
- For NVIDIA Graphics (if applicable):
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings.
- Set the Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.
- Under Vertical Sync, set it to Off (you've already done this, but double-check).
- For AMD Graphics (if applicable):
- Open AMD Radeon Settings.
- Go to Gaming and select Global Settings.
- Make sure the Frame Rate Target Control is off, and set Power Efficiency to Performance.
3. Update BIOS (Important Step)
As you mentioned, you haven’t updated your BIOS. Sometimes, BIOS updates address system stability and performance issues, especially with new hardware or updates to CPU/GPU management.
- Go to HP’s Support website.
- Enter your laptop model and check for the latest BIOS update.
- Download and install the update carefully, following the instructions from HP. Note: BIOS updates can have a significant impact on system performance and stability
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
