Victus 16
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I own an HP Victus 16 with an AMD 5 CPU. Lately, I started having wierd issues with it.

Whenever my laptop is powered off and I plug in/unplug an HDMI monitor, after some time from booting up normally (it was sometimes seconds, and sometimes hours) my built in monitor froze, or went black. After restarting my laptop, the graphics card reports an error 43, with the built in monitor being completely black (even no backlight could have been seen).

The device was already repaired by HP, and had its motherboard replaced, but the issue still persists.

Other steps that I took towards fixing the issue (none of them in the long term fixed the issue)

- Complete windows reinstall

- Resetting the device to factory settings

- Reinstalling the drivers, disabling auto-override drivers by Windows

- Contacting AMD

- deleting and restoring the graphics card from the device manager

- sending the device to be repaired by HP

- contacting my local HP call centre (they suggested sending the device to be repaired, which did not fix the issue)

- rebooting my laptop into windows safe mode (sometimes it worked, sometimes didn't)

The bellow steps fix the issue untill I do not plug in/unplug the monitor again when my laptop is powered off

- Complete power flush

- forcing the CMOS checksum to reload

Before the device was sent to be repaired, I once had an issue with both RAM sticks not being detected at all. I should also add, that I purchased the device less than a year ago, and its warranty is still valid. Furthermore, when the built in monitor is black, I am unable to get into the BIOS of the laptop.

Did anyone face a similar issue, or is able to provide support to resolve it?

Thank you in advance,

N
