Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone 👋

I recently bought my first HP Omen 15 AMD laptop (( No Thunderbolt! ))

(2021) and I have been trying to run my device with a third-party 100w charger but no luck. It keeps giving me this error message:

"Low-power power source detected Your computer will run from the battery and is not charging. Use of the original power adapter is recommended."

I ran HWinfo to see how much power is being charged to the battery, but it turned out that the laptop actually blocks the power source completely which is very annoying!!

I need to use the 100w power adapter because I travel a lot and I want to play or work on an airplane.

I'm just asking if anyone knows a way around it.

Is there something that we can disable from hp software that's running in the background?

Any thoughts or solutions are much appreciated.

Thank you in advance ❤️

What is your Omen machine ? I believe all Omen machines have at least 150W AC adapter (or chargers). I tested USB-C 100W on my Omen machine which requires 200W charger, it can ONLY charge my Omen machine when not in use or overnight .

Regards.

My laptop Model: 15-EN1013DX

As far as i know, the AMD does not support USB-C so i bought converters and other third party accessories to charge the laptop with a 100w via DC port.

Here are some of the iteams i used to test my laptop, which non of them worked via DC port, unfortunately.

1- ZOZO 90W AC Universal Laptop... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0132ST35Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

2- Cablecc Type C USB-C Female Input... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0832LT6GM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

3- Apple 96W USB-C Power Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081FVQCHQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

4-Nekteck 100W USB C Charger [GaN... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089FC1TRF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

5- Xiwai Type C USB-C Female Input... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082R18DPF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

6- PD Charger, hyppr 100W USB C... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088666T68?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I tried all these methods via DC port, no luck.

My laptop rejected them all, while turned on or off.

Lastly i tried to run HP diagnostic program, but still did not fix the issue.

This is a deal breaker for me as i travel overseas 4 times annually.  I hope there's a way to make this work and charge the laptop with 100w charger.

I might just return the laptop if there's no fix but i hope there is because i love its power!!

Thank you for your time and effort!
