Hi @Harsh170 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Victus laptop's inbuilt camera driver missing, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Check for Windows Updates
Sometimes, the latest drivers are included in Windows updates.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Restart your computer and see if the camera driver is installed automatically.
Step 2: Manually Install Camera Driver
Option 1: Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically find and install the correct drivers.
- Download and install HP Support Assistant from the HP official website.
- Open HP Support Assistant and check for updates and messages.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install any available camera driver updates.
Option 2: Download from HP Website
- Go to the HP Software and Drivers page.
- Enter your laptop model (Victus By HP Gaming Laptop 15-Fa0000) and select your operating system (Windows 11).
- Look for the camera driver in the list of available drivers and download it.
- Install the downloaded driver and restart your computer.
Step 3: Use Device Manager
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- In Device Manager, click on Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- If the camera driver is not found, right-click on the Camera category (or Imaging devices if it appears) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Step 4: Generic Camera Driver
If the specific driver for your camera is not available, you can try installing the generic driver provided by Microsoft.
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click on the camera device (if it appears) and select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers.
- Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Select the USB Video Device and click Next to install it.
Step 5: Reset Windows Camera App
- Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
- Find and click on the Camera app.
- Click Advanced options.
- Scroll down and click Reset.
Step 6: Reinstall Windows
If none of the above steps work, you may consider reinstalling Windows 11 to restore the camera functionality. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding with a reinstallation.
