Booted up my laptop and got the following message: 

 

SMART Hard Disk Error

 

The SMART hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure no data loss, please backup the content immediately and run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics,

 

Hard Disk 1 (301)

 

Ran a storage test and got this from it:

 

Testing Drive: 1

HDD/SSD 1: *** wear level is 2%

FAILURE ID : OLJBKG-B74B01-MFPX1F-609203

(*** is me censoring IDs)

 

Wanted to know what steps to take from here as my warranty is expired. Thanks.

If you can still get into Windows, back up any files you don't want to lose onto a portable hard drive or USB flash drive.

 

You will have to replace the drive and reinstall the operating system.

 

According to the service manual the model series only supports M.2 NVMe SSD's so that is the type of replacement drive you need to buy.
