How much would hp charge to fix my laptop? It telling me to install an os system even though it came with windows 10. And when I tried using my recovery drive it told me there wasn't enough space on the hard drive.

Do you know what model or product number of laptop you have?
Are you able to run the UEFI Diagnostics tool for checking the drive?
F2 at Power-On will access the tools if the drive is still usable.
Go to Component Tests > Storage and run the short test first. If no error, run the long test.
If its under warranty, HP will replace the drive if needed.
If you have to do it, you don't need to purchase another copy of Windows.
You can simply install Win10 via the Create media Windows 10 and an 8 GB USB thumb drive.
Windows will reactivate when it searches for updates.
Let me know how I can help further.
