Previously I told the system process comes up only when I hibernate, I was wrong!  Started noticing it only now, it comes up randomly even when I shut own.

However when it appears, it shows in the beginning itself. Yesterday I ran the PC for 12 hours straight, it doesn't come. If it  doesn't appear in the beginning, then it won't come again.

Is there any command line I could run during start up to prevent this?

Hi, as I mentioned previously, hibernation is functionally similar to shutdown.

Putting PC into sleep-wake resets something that causes these problems - until it clicks on again.

In my case (Zbook user), the problem is triggered by a) not performing sleep-wake cycle at least once after booting the OS b) not locking my custom CPU settings (requires disabled DPTF, as it meddles with my settings on a different layer) c) disabling the display, either by closing the lid or by timeout. It is possible that this set of triggers is even broader on HP Omen laptops, but most of them are shared, I can't help you with determining all of them, as I don't own that device.

There are no commands that serve as workaround nor a fix, based on the determined triggers you can tweak your OS not to spawn them in the first place (where possible), but the only way to fix it permanently is to wait for HP to develop an appropriate BIOS update.

If you haven't yet, please initiate HP Support via your HP Support Assistant - if HP is not able to fix your problem permanently, in a timely manner, you have a right to demand a refund (please check your local consumer laws), and from what I learned about HP Gaming Laptops on this community, unless you're a fan of electric ovens, ASUS ROG laptops are comparably much better, and unlike HP, developers of this platform are in constant communication with customers on ROG forums.

While it is tempting to perform such campaign to gain attention we deserve, we shouldn't resort to any underhanded tactics - do not lump working models, the fruit of dedicated and competent work, with those actually affected by this bug.

Much better approach would be to create a thread both on Windows 10 and HP reddit, or refresh existing ones with new information we gathered here.

However, for now I'm willing to keep it civil and wait until the end of the month - standard programming sprint takes 2 weeks, HP should create a new version until then - if not, it means that we were not taken seriously.

Another week went by and there is still no update for Zbooks firmware. Omen crew, are there any updates for your devices?

HP, please step up your game.

Hi mate. When he first called me, I asked him to call me again exactly in 1 week, so that I could collect sufficient data regarding the problem. He is supposed to call me last Friday, but he did not called me back till now.

So, I am going to re-initiate technical support once again. I already collected enough information this time (Logman thing etc).

If things go south, may be we could request for refund like you told previously. Its been 1 and 1/2 year since I bought this laptop, do you think they will refund?

You should reach a manager of a person that supported you, as a customer, you have right to escalate issues you feel are not being proceeded at all. If you create a new SR, do not forget to reference the old one. Please go to HP website and look for escalations cellphone.
