Hi just wondering why my Omen X has been using a lot of ram on idle. Right out of the box its been using it and I've taken a look at task manager to find out why but nothing really massive is eating away at my ram so wasn't sure if this was an issue with notebooks with 32gbs of ram or just with omen's in general. Currently with omen command and opera up I am using 6.40 gbs of ram.
Here is a shot of my task manager: Sorry if its a little out of order, I tried my best to screen shot it and put it all there.

@reddragonballz
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Are there any programs scheduled to start with the PC?
While you respond to that, let's try this workaround,
- Open 'Run' (Windows + R)
- Go to the 'Boot' tab
- Press Advanced Options
- Make sure 'Maximum Memory' is unchecked.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Let's try updating the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers from HP support assistant,
Performing Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also you can refer to this document, HP PCs - Improving PC Performance (Windows 10) https://support.hp.com/emea_africa-en/document/c06102177

When you have more ram to use, your pc will in general use more ram since it is normally downscalling with the amount of ram your pc has. Also in taskmanager you won't see everything that uses ram. For example my user account on my pc says that I use 2 gb of ram while it actually uses 6 gb of ram. So probably a lot of the ram usage it has is just for running windows
