HP Omen 17-an0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, seeing that this computer is one year old, I wondered if I could see if there is a way to lengthen the life of my computer. When I looked it up, I found out that I should be cleaning the GPU, and the CPU. I noticed that my CPU is getting fairly hot, almost 80 degrees celsius. With that, I am wondering how I should clean the vent fans of the computer, and whether or not I should take it apart so that I could reapply cooling gel to the CPU. Also, if I can clean the fans without opening the computer, how?

OK then, Lots of users report 80c whilst gaming depending on the game.

Those Omens do run hot.

As long as its not getting any hotter than that, I doubt repasting will help. But, you can always try.

Just dont tear into it while under warranty so you dont void something.

If under warranty, you can contact HP SUpport directly and see if they will do it for you.

Hello @CloudComputing

There are lots of tutorials on how to clean a laptop fan. Since its only a year old, unless you were using it in a cement factory, you shouldnt have a whole lot of accumulation yet. Simply blowing some canned air into the back vents should suffice.

If it were a situation where lots of gunk collected, you would need to take the laptop apart and deep clean.

You shouldnt need to reapply thermal paste after only one year either, although some do who are eager enthusiasts.

I assume its only reaching 80c while gaming?

Thanks! Yeah, the only time it reaches 80 degrees celsius is when I am gaming
