How do I fix a game lag when playing ??

I am currently using a OMEN by HP - 15-dc0082tx laptop it runs on i7 - 8750 processor with gtx 1050ti GPU. I am having a continuous lag while playing destiny 2 game. This game requires plugged in charger and this is the first time I am facing a problem with my laptop and I have no other problem besides game lag. I tried reducing all the graphic settings and my nvidia gpu is the primary gpu for running games.How do I fix this game lag ?
