I'm a little anxious. Sometime soon, I plan to purchase the HP pavilion gaming laptop 15 - dk0096wm. This model has a 9th generation Intel core i5 processor and GTX 1650 gpu. Before I make the purchase, would someone help me with how to upgrade it's 8gb ram and 256 ssd storage? Im confused about the cord needed to add a hdd. Will laptop have everything I need to add the hdd or will I have to purchase extra things to install it?

I just purchased one of these laptops from Walmart myself. So far an excellent machine. You can upgrade both the RAM and add an extra hard drive – you don’t need to buy any extra parts except for the memory stick. There is a blank plastic filler piece in the space for the second hard drive all you have to do is follow the instructions in the manual below. I installed a 2TB Seagate HDD - works great.

Manual:

1. RAM: Yes, you can upgrade RAM to 32GB (2 x 16GB) max,
2. SSD: Yes, you can upgrade 256GB to 1TB or 2TB,
3. HDD: No, you need more parts as mentioned on pages 37-38, but one part is N/A
My suggestion, upgrade SSD as mentioned on #2 above and forget HDD.
Regards.
