Hi guys, I am wondering how to disable the F11 hotkey. Right now it opens a small window allowing me to choose between myHP and OMEN Gaming Hub. I do not want this. How can I turn it off?
Thanks!

Hi @htao7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
The F11 hotkey on your HP laptop is likely mapped to open myHP or OMEN Gaming Hub through a built-in software feature. You can disable or reassign it using the following methods:
Method 1: Disable HP Hotkeys in MyHP
- Open MyHP – Press F11 or search for "myHP" in the Start menu.
- Navigate to Settings (or a similar options menu).
- Look for a section related to Hotkeys or Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Disable the F11 shortcut.
If no such setting exists, try the next method.
Method 2: Disable HP Hotkeys via Registry Editor
⚠ Warning: Editing the registry can affect system behavior. Proceed carefully.
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
- Navigate to:
3. In the right pane, find ShellExecute (or similar).
4. Right-click it and choose Modify.
5. Delete the value data (if present) and click OK.
6. Restart your laptop and test F11.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
