Hi @VinnyGithiri,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To remove the HP Hotkey Support pop-up and resolve the issue with adjusting light, you might want to try the following steps.
- Check System Tray or Task Manager: See if there's an HP Hotkey Support application running in the system tray or in the Task Manager. If so, try right-clicking on it and see if there's an option to disable or exit the application.
- Disable Startup Programs: Sometimes, HP Hotkey Support might be set to run at startup. You can disable it from running at startup by going into the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), selecting the "Startup" tab, and disabling HP Hotkey Support if it's listed there.
- Uninstall HP Hotkey Support: If the above steps don't work, you might consider uninstalling HP Hotkey Support altogether. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program, finding HP Hotkey Support in the list, and selecting "Uninstall".
- Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers: Sometimes, issues with keyboard functions can be resolved by updating or reinstalling the keyboard drivers. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding your keyboard under "Keyboards", right-clicking on it, and selecting "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" followed by reinstalling the drivers.
- Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates: Occasionally, issues like this can be caused by outdated BIOS/UEFI firmware. Check if there are any updates available for your system's BIOS/UEFI firmware from the HP support website and install them if available.
By following these steps, you should be able to remove the HP Hotkey Support pop-up and resolve the issue with adjusting the light on your keyboard.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
